I have uploaded several photos to a blog to replace the older versions of the photos. However, many of them need to be grouped into a gallery. Is there a way to take a bunch of single photos already on the post and switch them to a gallery? It seems I need to upload or pull them from the media storage to be able to do that.

The only way I know how to do it is to delete the ones currently in the post then pull them from media storage into a gallery.
You may want to consider doing columns instead of a gallery too. I don’t know if you’re on a Feast theme, but I know they recommend columns vs galleries (which I’m just starting to do). You can read more info here: https://feastdesignco.com/process-shots/
